A deep sense of love & belonging is an irreducible need of all people.
We are biologically, cognitive & spiritually wired to love, to be loved, & to belong.
When those needs are not met, we don't function as we are meant to. We fall apart. We numb.
We ache. We hurt others. We get sick.”

My Journey
My path to becoming a social worker began at age 16, shaped by my mother’s hospitalizations for bipolar disorder. These early experiences, along with a deep commitment to serving marginalized and vulnerable communities, set the course for my career. In the early years, I worked in a variety of nonprofit settings—including outpatient clinics, residential programs, and correctional facilities—gaining valuable insight into the diverse needs of those I serve.
In 2008, a diagnosis of an autoimmune condition prompted me to transition into private practice so I could better manage my health. This personal journey has profoundly influenced my clinical work with clients living with chronic health conditions and their caregivers. I am dedicated to providing care that is flexible and responsive to each person’s unique and changing needs.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new restaurants with friends and my spouse, hiking with my dog, and getting lost in historical fiction.

Juno, my therapy dog
Juno is my English Cream Golden Retriever, born in December 2017. He was a certified therapy dog with Alliance of Therapy Dogs from 2019–2023. Juno has completed extensive training and loves treats, belly rubs, greeting clients, and hiking. He is in the office most days, bringing comfort and joy to everyone he meets.
Juno also volunteered at the Women's Center in Raleigh and at local libraries for See, Spot, Read.

Collaborative & Integrative Care
I am a Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider, consulting with Dr. Jay Stevens at Essential Health to offer comprehensive care. Together, we combine traditional and functional medicine approaches—including nutrition, supplements, movement, somatic exercises, and meditation—to address the complexities of modern mental health and wellness.
I am currently participating in advanced training with Dr. Leslie Korn and participate in a monthly consultation group with other integrative therapists, continually learning and refining my approach to best support my clients. I have attended 2 Integrative Medicine for Mental Health conferences learning from the best of the best.
