About Me...
I wanted to be a social worker since I was 16 years old. I have always had a heart for the marginalized, disenfranchised and vulnerable in our community. The first part of my career was dedicated to working at non-profits which served these men, women, and teens. I worked in every setting from outpatient to residential to jails.
In 2008, I developed an autoimmune disease that led to private practice where I could better take care of my health needs. My journey towards improved health and functioning has shaped my professional focus. I now specialize in working with others who struggle with chronic health issues and their caregivers, while also working with other issues (see integrative health approach page).
Health must be determined by physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being. Imbalance or illness in one area will impact all areas. We are complex beings where one size does not fit all. We are also constantly changing, so what works at one point, may not work forever. I look forward to working with you on discovering what works for you.
* Please note- I only work with adults and do not do couples counseling.
